Melody Montgomery

Melody has been dancing since the age of 2 and began her career at Heather Gail Dance Academy, where she gained an excellent grounding for tap technique.

Then from the age of 7, began dancing at the very well respected May Downs School of Dance where Melody first began performing professionally in pantomimes and at such events as Moomba.

Melody has performed professionally at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl carols by Candlelight, performed with the well-known clowns Zig and Zag from the Moomba parade and at the age of 11 performed as a singer and dancer in a show with Johnny Bowles from Young Talent Time. Melody has also performed professionally at the MCG football grand final, and performed as a singer and dancer in cabaret shows such as The Dragon Fly Restaurant, Mamma Vitoria’s and The Oriana Theatre Restaurant,

Melody has also played the part of Frenchie having choreographed the production of Grease throughout many RSL Clubs around Melbourne, and has performed as a backing vocalist and chorographer for Elvis Leaves his Mark Productions, starring Mark Andrews, an Elvis Impersonator.

 

Melody has studied RAD Ballet and has learnt and competed in all theatrical styles of dance such as Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Neo Classical, Cabaret, Singing, National and Character, achieving astounding success throughout Melbourne and Australia.

Having owned her own dance schools and teaching for over 30 years, Melody has had much success putting students through dance and eisteddfods’ in all dance styles and singing in Solo, Duo and Troupe work, as well as producing stage shows and concerts.

Melody has also been an adjudicator at the Yarram Dance Eisteddfods.

Melody brings to the students, not only a wealth of experience and knowledge, but also the love and passion of dance, having a fantastic rapport with not only students but all involved in the dance industry.
